Yup! That's it exactly. We both wanted-needed that time to grow-up, work on our careers and enjoy the Saturday and Sunday mornings when we slept until 10. We take our roles as parents very seriously.

Personally, I think marriage/family is a natural instinct. I'm not saying marriage in religious or state-sanctioned contexts, but more the exclusivity of a couple and then a family.
It is instinct... it's a foundation of our basic perogatives. Nothing to hold up and triumph but to watch as an animal would. Or mourn when it doesn't exist.
