I understand your point. I have been to a few jewish forums, just to study judaism , and I found a few of them addressing themselves as the 'chosen people ' and stuff.
There is indeed an article in wikipedia 'chosen people '.
Perhaps this could be the reason why they have a superiority complex, which i too have perceived in some.

If possible go through Anne Frank's 'Autobiography of a young girl ', which is a moving account written by a young jewish girl , while she was hiding from the nazis , with her family in holland.
