why have you took words from several different verses and pasted them together? lol you even have them from two different chapters.
ok as for verse 5:51, which reads "Do not take Jews and Christians as friends...". this is actually a poor translation of the original arabic. the word translated here for 'friends' is 'wali', which actually translates to 'tribal patron'. so a better translation of the verse is
"O you who believe, do not take Jews and Christians as tribal patrons; these are tribal patrons of one another. Those among you who become clients of these belong with them."
In the time of Muhammed it was possible for a person to be a honorary member of a tribe and in the Quran, God is discouraging this.
if we read the following verse, it becomes clear that this was during wartime and that there was a fear that the Jews and Christians would join the enemy.
[5:52] "You will see those who harbor doubt in their hearts hasten to join them, saying, "We fear lest we may be defeated." May GOD bring victory, or a command from Him, that causes them to regret their secret thoughts."
A few verses later.
[5:57] "O you who believe, do not befriend those among the recipients of previous scripture who mock and ridicule your religion, nor shall you befriend the disbelievers. You shall reverence GOD, if you are really believers." [60:8] GOD does not enjoin you from befriending those who do not fight you because of religion, and do not evict you from your homes. You may befriend them and be equitable towards them. GOD loves the equitable.
As for verses 9:5-41, which you quoted parts of as saying something about slaying people. perhaps you are unaware that a treaty was made between the muslims and polytheists, to which the polytheists broke. God then gave them 4 months to repent of their crimes. when the 4 months were up, war was declared on them.
[9:13] "Will ye not fight a folk who broke their solemn pledges, and purposed to drive out the messenger and did attack you first ? What! Fear ye them ? Now Allah hath more right that ye should fear Him, if ye are believers"
As you can see, they were the first to attack the muslims.
for those that didn't break the treaty, God tells the muslims to keep their treaty to them.
[9:4] "Excepting those of the idolaters with whom ye (Muslims) have a treaty, and who have since abated nothing of your right nor have supported anyone against you. (As for these), fulfil their treaty to them till their term. Lo! Allah loveth those who keep their duty (unto Him)."
God even tells the muslims to help those that ask protection of the muslims.
[9:6] "And if anyone of the idolaters seeketh thy protection (O Muhammad), then protect him so that he may hear the Word of Allah, and afterward convey him to his place of safety. That is because they are a folk who know not."
