Probably does have alot to do with insecurity. I think some people also assume that everyone believes in God and that Christianty is an endearing quality. "If I tell this person that I'm a devout Christian, they will like me and think I'm a good person". Kind of like people that announce they have a college degree at inappropriate moments. "If they know I have a college degree, they will think I'm smart". Does that make sense? Agree, disagree, expand?
The silence really is so silly. I just think to myself - even though I try to live a decent life the best I can and try to do right by people, you're not going to talk to me because the beliefs that make you a better person don't necessarily work for me. |
