I just saw this on good morning america today. Carl Pearson, former head preacher of a southern megachurch, publicly denied hell because he couldn't reconcile a 'ever merciful' god torturing unbelievers forever. Needless to say, after he came out with this, his congregation went from more than 6,000 to less than 300.

I looked quick for an internet article but couldn't find one. Can anyone have better luck (I have to set up for my grad party now so I don't have time).
