I wasn't trying to be defensive about my experiences. I hope it didn't come off that way.
Anyway, I agree. I'd even take it a step farther. I think there are similarities in every religion, ancient and modern. And I think looking at those similarities can lead to some very important breakthroughs. It can't be a coincidence that religions developed completely independently of each other have such striking similarities.
